M&I Materials Limited, a leading manufacturer of ester transformer dielectric fluids*, has officially approved the epoxy resin of transformer connection system TCS for use with MIDEL® 7131, MIDEL®eN 1204 and also MIDEL® eN 1215 ester fluids.
The tests were performed on specimens made of the same solid epoxy resin used in transformer connection system TCS.
The test specimens and fluid samples showed no adverse signs of deterioration over the test period and met the requirements of ASTM D3455.
*Alternatives to conventional transformer insulating oils are becoming increasingly popular. They are produced synthetically or on the basis of natural oils such as rapeseed or soya and offer decisive advantages, especially in fire-hazardous or environmentally sensitive environments.
