Our range of connection components
In recent years, screw-type connectors have become widely accepted in the field of electrical power transmission and are increasingly being used to connect the inner conductors of power cables. Initially, the technology was mainly used for cables in the distribution sector. In the meantime, the technique is successfully applied up to the highest voltage and power levels.
This is also because it has additional advantages over conventional connection techniques such as crimping for example:

-
Screw connectors are generally less expensive than other types of connectors.
-
Screw connectors are easy to install and require no special tools or expertise.
-
Screw connectors are extremely versatile and can be used for nearly any type of conductor.
Our products are always adapted to the dimensions of the cable to be connected and your cable accessory and are based on our standardized RAC conductor connection interface. This special shear bolt layout has been verified according to IEC 61238-1-3 and offers low transfer resistance and outstanding long-term thermal stability. It is suitable for the connection of solid, stranded or sectorial (Milliken) conductors, compacted or non-compacted, made of copper or aluminium.

The majority of our customers are leading manufacturers of high-voltage cables and corresponding accessories, but in the meantime EPC's, contractors and utilities also value our products and services.

Applicable standard:
At present, only IEC 61238-1 exists as a test standard for mechanical connectors as RAC. Since this standard only covers products up to a conductor cross section of 1200mm² (excluding Milliken conductors) and a rated voltage of 30kV it is actually not applicable for RAC.
However, as there is no other international directive, our products are based on this guideline and have been designed accordingly.
Important:
Since the requirements for screw connectors are diverse and often require specific solutions, it is advisable to clarify the required technical design in detail. For this reason, we recommend that you contact us if you are unsure about the application and / or the design of the requested screw connector. We are able to dimension and manufacture individual solutions within a reasonable time.
